Officials are setting the record straight about Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s death. Despite earlier reports, Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) told People on Friday that the “Cosby Show” alum’s daughter was actually not in the water at the time of his drowning.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner was remembered by his longtime friend and Cosby Show co-star, Keshia Knight Pulliam, one week after his death. In a video posted to Instagram, Pulliam, 46, shared footage of Warner playing guitar onstage at City Winery Atlanta. She captioned the post with a promise that she would be there for Warner’s daughter.
