More fires have sparked in the past week, with 127 active wildfires currently burning in the province, with a quarter considered out of control.

The B.C. Government has has issued an air quality advisory for parts of Vancouver Island due to elevated smoke levels reported by BC Air Quality.

The "out of control" Wesley Ridge fire has grown to 511 hectares. Almost 400 properties are on evacuation order in the area. The B.C. Wildfire Service says it has had a "pretty successful" day setting up structure protection.
