Makes me want to play harder for him.”

Simpson gained the trust of the Alabama coaching staff, trust that is already starting to show up on the practice field. In his first practice as Alabama's starting quarterback, Simpson, Grubb said, was decisive. Simpson showcased an ability to get the ball out quickly and to the correct read.
