President Donald Trump announced Sunday that the United States and the European Union reached a framework for a trade deal, after talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Turnberry,

The announcement came after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen travelled to Scotland for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump to push a hard-fought deal over the line.

Speaking in Turnberry, Scotland, Trump said the agreement includes major commitments from the EU on energy purchases and investment.
