U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday the U.S. would charge a 15% tariff on imports from South Korea as part of an agreement to avoid even higher levies.

The agreement comes after other American allies, like Japan, clinched their own deals, partly to moderate President Trump’s tariff threats.

Under the “full and complete” trade deal, South Korean goods will be subject to a 15 percent tariff, while US exports will not face duties, Trump said on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday amid a blitz of trade-related announcements that also included new US duties on Brazil and India.
