Joe Root moved to second place in the all-time Test run-scorers list during the Manchester Test. His achievement highlights his consistency and raises expectations of surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.

Joe Root, during a superb innings of exactly 150 in the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford, went from fifth to second in the list of the highest run-scorers in Test cricket.

While Tendulkar made the record playing 200 Tests, Root has become the second-highest run scorer in Tests with a total of 13,409 runs in 157 Tests, and former Australian captain Ricky Ponting believes he sees no reason why Root cannot break Tendulkar’s record.
