Greece, Turkey, and parts of Southern Europe are battling massive wildfires as the region experiences a significant heatwave.

Dry conditions and high winds are also helping to spread fires on both the Greek mainland and some islands. In the town of Kryoneri, just over 12 miles north of Athens, residents have been ordered to evacuate their homes.

Greek officials have begun evacuating residents from several villages as five major wildfires continue to rip through the country this weekend.
