A ruptured water main has shut down part of Union Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina, according to the fire department.

The Startex-Jackson-Wellford-Duncan Water District issued a boil water advisory on Wednesday after a water main break occurred.

The district advised residents to “vigorously” boil water for at least 1 full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
