Ozzy Osbourne returned to the "home of metal" for the last time on Wednesday as an emotional Birmingham honoured one of its most cherished sons.

An emotional Sharon Osbourne, who was married to the musician for 43 years, laid flowers at the growing makeshift memorial around the Black Sabbath Bridge at the centre of the procession featuring a bench with life-size cut-outs of the band’s four founding members — Osbourne, Terry (Geezer) Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward.
