An air quality statement is in effect for Toronto and the surrounding region as wildfire smoke continues to drift south, Environment Canada says.

A Greenwood and Danforth measuring station reported the city’s worst air quality Saturday evening. Smoky skies are likely throughout the weekend.

Health experts are not currently concerned about air quality in Toronto but warn prolonged exposure to moderate risk air may threaten health.
