Michigan authorities say 11 people have been stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City. Authorities say a suspect is in custody and that investigators believe those hurt Saturday were not specifically targeted.

The mass stabbing start near the checkout lanes of a Traverse City-area Walmart store late Saturday afternoon, police said.

The Munson Medical Center, a 9-minute drive from the Walmart, confirmed that they are working closely with local authorities and emergency services to ensure the best care for those impacted.

Officials said the stabbings happened near the checkout area of the store and appeared to be random in nature.
