The official cause of death for Hulk Hogan, who died last week (24 July) at the age of 71, has been given as a heart attack. Hogan died of acute myocardial infarction, while it was also revealed that he had chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, a type of cancer that attacks the white blood cells.

The wrestling legend died at the age of 71 last week after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida - with tributes quickly pouring in for the WWE icon.

Hogan’s official cause of death is cited as “acute myocardial infarction” – which in layman’s terms means a heart attack – according to a cremation approval summary report from the medical examiner’s office in Pinellas County, Florida shared with CNN on Thursday.
