Harvard University said on Tuesday it will comply with the demands of President Donald Trump's administration to turn over employment forms for thousands of university staff, but for the time being was not sharing records for those employed in roles only available to students.

The Trump administration is pressing for a deal with Harvard University that would require the Ivy League school to pay far more than the $200 million fine agreed to by Columbia

The government can request the employment eligibility verification forms related to citizenship and immigration status as a matter of course, but Harvard was surprised to receive such a voluminous demand.
