Cal Raleigh is on quite a tear, stacking up home runs in bunches for the Seattle Mariners. In the process, he's established himself as a top candidate for American League Most Valuable Player honors this season.

Raleigh became the first catcher in history to win the Home Run Derby, was named the American League's starting catcher and had 38 home runs at the All-Star Break. His 38 homers set MLB records for the most by a catcher, switch-hitter and American League hitter by the All-Star Break in MLB history.

Cal Raleigh became the fifth different Mariner to hit 40 home runs in a season with his solo blast Saturday during the Mariners' 7-2 win over the Angels.

A number of music greats have honored Ozzy, including Metallica, Elton John, Foo Fighters and more. Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band, and more all incorporated covers of Black Sabbath material into their live performances following the news.

The homer also came at a key time, snapping Raleigh out of a bit of a funk and also propelling him further into the MLB lead. With Yankees superstar Aaron Judge hitting the IL (right elbow), Raleigh has a chance to make a run at the American League MVP award.
