Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for Toronto, warning that drifting wildfire smoke is expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility throughout the day.

Widespread special air quality statements are in effect across much of Ontario and Quebec this weekend as thick plumes of wildfire smoke push into the region from the Prairies. Smoke and air quality issues will continue east into Quebec and portions of the Maritimes on Sunday.
