Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson is in the midst of fresh controversy after her office mistakenly released the wrong detainee from the parish jail in what she described as a clerical error. Hutson announced the unintended release of Khalil Bryan, 30, Friday afternoon. He remain at-large as of Monday morning.

Khalil Bryan, 30, was released from the Orleans Parish Jail on Friday in what authorities refer to as "human error," after he was confused with another inmate with a “similar last name”, according to Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson.

Khalil Bryan was released after a clerical error caused officials to confuse him with another inmate with a similar last name, officials said.
