Outlander fans took over San Diego Comic-Con ‘s Hall H on Friday, when series executive producers Matthew B. Roberts, Maril Davis and Sam Heughan, who also stars, took the stage. They were joined by co-stars Sophie Skelton (Brianna MacKenzie) and Richard Rankin (Roger MacKenzie).
The eighth and last season of Outlander will be released in early 2026, although no specific date has yet been made public. This timing places Season 8's debut after the release of the prequel spinoff series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will release on August 8, 2025.

Sam Heughan is ready for his next chapter. The actor, 45, debuted a new hairstyle while at San Diego Comic-Con to promote season 8 of “Outlander” on Friday. Although his character Jamie Fraser is known for his long locks, Heughan opted for a buzz cut in the off-season.

Slater noted that the scene's set-up reminded her of an iconic scene in Baz Luhrmann's film adaptation of Shakespeare's play, Romeo + Juliet. " The very first time in the barn, it reminded us all a bit of the scene in Romeo + Juliet with the fish tank. That was my first thought when I read it. It's such a beautiful scene."
