DETROIT — After taking a fastball from Detroit Tigers pitcher Will Vest off his left hand on Monday, Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez appears to avoided serious injury. Suárez told reporters on Tuesday that a CT scan and MRI on his hand came back negative with no breaks.

In the top of the ninth inning, Suárez was hit on the left hand by Tigers closer Will Vest, with the force causing his helmet to fly off. Suárez knelt down and grabbed his hand before eventually leaving the game. Blaze Alexander ran in his place.
