Arizona Diamondbacks star third baseman Eugenio Suárez took a fastball to the hand during Monday's game against the Detroit Tigers and will have X-rays done, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported via X that the Tigers are one of the "strong suitors" for Suarez and would love to get a trade done with the Diamondbacks before Arizona leaves town. The Diamondbacks play July 28 through July 30 in Detroit.
Their 6-0 loss to right-hander Paul Skenes on Sunday, July 27, meant the Diamondbacks left town having dropped two of three to a subpar Pittsburgh Pirates team. It also meant they lost a second consecutive game started by a pitcher who could be traded in the coming days.
