Donald Trump has said that pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is something he is “allowed to do”. Maxwell, the ex-girlfriend of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, was interviewed by Trump administration officials in prison for the second day in a row on Friday.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence at a federal prison after being found guilty in 2021 of helping Epstein sexually abuse teenage girls. She is currently appealing her sentence.
