Joseph Czuba, a 73-year-old landlord, died in prison after being sentenced to 30 years for the hate crime murder of 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume and 20 years for the severe injuries he caused to the boy's mother,

Joseph Czuba, 73, died less than three months after being sentenced to 53 years in prison for the October 2023 hate crime attack.

Three months ago, Joseph Czuba was sentenced to 53 years behind bars for the attack. He was found guilty in February of murder, attempted murder and hate-crime charges in the death of 6-year-old Wadee Alfayoumi and the wounding of the boy’s mother, Hanan Shaheen.
