Shooting at University of New Mexico dorm leaves 1 dead

A 14-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old is in custody. University police responded to an alarm at one of the Albuquerque campus' buildings at about 1:36 a.m. on July 25 and discovered broken windows and what appeared to be blood on the scene, New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler said at news conference on the evening of July 25.
The initial investigation determined that the incident involved four individuals who were hanging out in a room inside the Casas Del Rio dorm, according to state police. The group was playing video games when the suspect opened fire, fatally shooting a 14-year-old. Fuentes and the other two people in the room then fled the scene.
