Dominic LeBlanc says he expects Prime Minister Mark Carney and U.S. President Donald Trump will talk with each other “over the next couple of days” as Canada tries to find a way out of a 35 per cent blanket tariff on exports to the U.

The talks are expected following Washington’s move to slap 35 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods, Minister Dominic LeBlanc said Sunday.

The Canada-U.S. trade minister appeared on CBS's Face the Nation on Sunday and said that while Canada is "disappointed" with Trump's new 35-per-cent tariffs, he is continuing to work toward a deal.
