Thailand has imposed an immediate ban on drone operations in 14 areas along its border with Cambodia, where military clashes have escalated into the combat debut of the Royal Thai Air Force's Gripen fighters.
Thailand accused Cambodia on Wednesday of a "flagrant violation" of a truce deal to end cross-border fighting, saying Cambodian troops launched an overnight attack on the frontier.
A ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia held and military commanders from both sides met to discuss measures to maintain the truce, as some residents along the disputed frontier trickled back home after five days of intense fighting.
The State Department raised both advisories to Level 2 on July 25, citing the “risk of unrest” in Thailand and crime and landmines in Cambodia.
Thai and Cambodian leaders will meet in Malaysia for talks to end hostilities, a spokesperson for the Thai prime minister's office said Sunday. This comes following pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump to end a deadly border dispute,
