The Bay Area and much of the Northern California coast remain under a Tsunami Advisory as of Wednesday morning after the massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake sent waves across the Pacific.

OAKLAND, Calif. - The National Weather Service issued a tsunami advisory for the California coast Tuesday night following a series of large earthquakes in Russia. The tsunami advisory is in effect from the British Columbia-Alaska border to the California-Mexico border.

SAN FRANCISCO – The Bay Area and other coastal areas of California are under a tsunami watch following a magnitude 8.7 earthquake in Russia’s Far East, the National Weather Service said. The watch also extends to coastal area of Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alaska.
