Republican Rep. Mike Collins claims he’s on a roll after announcing his bid Monday to unseat incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff in the Peach State.

After she declined a Senate challenge against Democrat Jon Ossoff, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Tuesday she will not run for Georgia governor, either.

Collins had been considering a Senate run since Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced in May that he would not run against Ossoff, AP reported. Ossoff and Raphael Warnock delivered a massive win to Democrats when they picked up Georgia's two Senate seats in 2020, the first time in 15 years that Georgia was represented by two Democratic senators.

ATLANTA (AP) — U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced Tuesday that she won’t run for governor in Georgia in 2026, putting an end to her flirtation with the race in a long social media post saying she is turned off by a political “good ole boy” system and alleging that it was endangering Republican control of the state.

The Georgia Department of Education confirmed this week that the Trump administration released federal funding for after-school programs after state officials criticized the government for withholding the money.

Senator Jon Ossoff outpaced his Republican challengers in the last fundraising quarter of the Georgia Senate race, expected to be one of the most competitive elections of the 2026 midterms.

Georgia's 2026 Senate race creates conflict between Trump advisers and Gov. Kemp, who floated Derek Dooley as a potential Republican candidate to challenge Democrat Ossoff.
