Two tracker maps from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Central Pacific Hurricane Center show how the paths of Hurricane Ione and Tropical Storm Keli are forming. Hurricane Iona formed on Monday after undergoing rapid intensification. Shortly after Iona formed, Tropical Storm Keli also developed.

Iona is the first named storm of 2025 in the Central Pacific and is currently a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale according to the National Hurricane Center.
