The billionaire media mogul opened a road on her property, giving people a route to evacuate from coastal areas to higher ground, Hawaii officials said.

Conflicting reports coming out of Maui, claiming that some fleeing the tsunami were allowed entry into the media mogul’s private road, and others were not.

Oprah Winfrey opened her private road in Maui, Hawaii, to help residents evacuate the area amid a tsunami alert following a huge earthquake off Russia's coast, authorities have said.
