U.S. President Donald Trump convened a peace summit at the White House on Friday with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan that is meant to help end decades of conflict and reopen key transportation routes while allowing the U.

US President Donald Trump on Friday said that long-time adversaries Armenia and Azerbaijan had committed to peace. "We've finally succeeded in making peace," Trump said at a signing ceremony with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House.

The Biden administration’s efforts to end the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict set the stage for the deal, but the Trump team got it over the finish line.
