The timing couldn’t be worse for Dallas. Turpin signed a three-year, $18 million contract extension with the Cowboys in March, making him the highest-paid special teams player in NFL history.

The 28-year-old Turpin also saw his role in the Cowboys’ offense grow last season. He appeared in all 17 games and finished with 31 catches for 420 yards and 2 touchdowns.
